Colorful Carbon Fiber Tutorial
Well in this tutorial i will show you how to make carbon any part of your car... and if you want it color you can do it!lets start.... In this tut we will make carbon the front bumper of this civic:
First of all create new image... set the pixels 12 to 6 as show below....
The first thing you have to do to create the pattern is to select the top left quarter with the rectangular marquee tool. Then select the gradient fill tool, making sure that the colours are black (top) and white (bottom as illustrated), then carefully fill from left to right to acheive the effect shown in the example. Do the same in the bottom right quarter, but drag from right to left. If done correctly you should achieve the effect shown here
The final step in making your carbon fiber pattern is to define it. Go Edit>Define Pattern. Name as carbon and press ok. you can now close the document without saving, the pattern is permanently stored in Photoshop.
Now that we have created the pattern open your car... then duplicate the backgroung...then select the part you want to make carbon and cut it... the next step is simple open a new file and make dimentions 1600 * 1200... this is according to the size of your image... Make a new layer and hit Edit>Fill, select your pre-defined pattern and hit OK.. Now copy it and paste it to your car file. arrange correctly and you will have this....
Now, to make sure that the carbon weave looks realistic, select the carbon layer and go to Filters>Distort>Twirl.
use image>adjustment>variations on carbon layer and on bakgground to make the color of your choise....
you will have this result....
use burn tool on low points and dodge tool on highlighted areas to make it more realistic! Well thats it... enjoy! if you have any questions feel free to ask i will be glad to answer!
